Assess oxidation and existing damage
Photographs help identify dullness, staining and visible surface defects. Pitting and corrosion need careful evaluation: polishing can improve presentation but cannot promise to remove deep defects or restore lost metal.
Specify each surface
Identify the leading edges, nacelle surfaces and other polished components requested. The proposal should distinguish the brightwork area from adjacent paint and other finishes and account for access and masking.
Know when maintenance review is needed
Suspected corrosion, damage and uncertain surface suitability should be referred to the aircraft’s maintenance representative. Cosmetic polishing is not an airworthiness inspection or a substitute for maintenance approval.
Maintain the result
A follow-up cleaning plan helps manage contamination between polishing visits. Ask for brightwork to be coordinated with the exterior wash and any separately specified protective treatment.
Questions about this service
Will polishing remove deep pitting?
Not necessarily. Pitting may remain, and aggressive correction may be inappropriate. Condition and aircraft requirements determine what can be done.
What should I send for a quote?
Send aircraft type, photos of each brightwork area, location and your available service window.
